Most Thrilling places in Tarangire include:
Whistling Thorn Camp
This small, intimate and exceptionally well run camp has only 6 tents and borders the national park. The food is very good and a portion of the cost of stay goes to help the local Maasai community.
Tarangire Safari Lodge
This classic tented lodge also has a few stone cottages suitable for family stays. There is a popular swimming pool, large stone patio with views to the Tarangire River (often studded with wildlife in the dry season) and a comfortable lounge and bar. The food is very good and you couldn’t ask for a better location within the National Park
Sopa Lodge
This is a somewhat larger establishment offering good value of money with excellent services and a spectacular location within the park.
Kikoti Camp
Situated at the southern end of the park, Kikoti Camp is a perennial favourite. The lodge is beautifully furnished with excellent service and a resident waterhole to attract elephant and other wildlife. Kikoti lies on the migration route for the plains game and offers a diverse array of wildlife to see from the safety of the camp during the beginning of the dry season in July and towards the end in November.
Tamarind Camp
Another small tented camp located just outside the park near the main entrance, Tamarind Camp has large, luxurious tents and excellent service.
