The Lemosho Route ascends through western part of the mountain where one can enjoy the tranquil beautiful scenery of the rain forest and sometimes its possible to see animals such as buffalo, elephant and monkeys.

Day 1:
Transfer to the Lemosho Gate for entrance formalities. Hike through the rain forest for 3-4hrs to Dinner and overnight at Mti Mkubwa. (2,650 m)

Day 2:
After breakfast leave Mti Mkubwa, trekking through the Shira Plateaus for 4-5hrs. Dinner and overnight at Shira One. (3,650m)

  

Day 3:
Hike through the moor land zone to desert for about 3-4hrs. Dinner and overnight Shira Two (3,800m)

Day 4:
Pass through Shira Plateau and Lava Tower (4,630m), then descend to Barranco Hut. Dinner and overnight at Barranco (3,930m).

Day 5:
Start the trek by climbing the Barranco wall, and continue trekking for 3-4hrs. Dinner and overnight at Karanga (3,900 m)

Day 6:
Today it’s possible to see the Western Breach,usually covered by a huge snow dome 2-3 hrs trekking. Dinner and overnight at Barafu (4,600m)

Day 7:
Begin the steep 7-8 hrs climb to Stella Point (5,735m) at night, arriving at sunrise. Continue on to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), two hrs round trip, before hiking down to Mweka with a stop at Barafu for breakfast. and Dinner and overnight at Mweka (3,000m)

Day 8:
After breakfast it’s about a three hour descent off the mountain
