Bagamoyo has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Once one of the most important dhow building centres on the Swahili coast, you can still find the boats being made here. The town is a nice place for someone with historical interest and is also a burgeoning art centre. There are interesting ruins and lovely beaches all over the small town and it’s a lovely destination for a weekend getaway out of a stressful week.
